Unfortunately, the cost of operating the restaurant in this economic environment proved to be too much for the Disney owned and operated venture and they closed it down last week.  Approximately, 140 people lost their jobs.  On the bright side it opens up a prime piece of real estate for another restaurant for the area so stay tuned.

]]> http://www.toodoobuckhead.com/john/77/even-more-bad-news/feed/ 0 Another Recession Casualty http://www.toodoobuckhead.com/john/75/another-recession-casualty/ http://www.toodoobuckhead.com/john/75/another-recession-casualty/#comments Tue, 06 Oct 2009 12:44:37 +0000 John http://www.toodoobuckhead.com/john/?p=75 Unfortunately the ugly recession has claimed another business casualty in Buckhead.  Roy’s Hawaiian Fusion closed last week.   The upscale Polynesian-style restaurant, which was located at the corner of Lenox Road and Piedmont Road, opened in 2001.  It was one of a chain of thirty-three Roy’s restaurants around the world.  The first Roy’s opened in Honolulu in 1988.  I have eaten at the Buckhead and Maui locations and they were both excellent.  It is certainly sad to see our Buckhead Roy’s go away.
