Shula’s 347 Grill opened for business this week in the Atlanta Mariott Buckhead on Lenox Road across from Lenox Mall. The restaurant is named after legendary football coach Don Shula and his NFL leading 347 career victories. The atmosphere is casual but the food is seriously good. They serve everything from premium Angus beef steaks and burgers, to just off the boat fresh fish to gourmet salads. The bar is a great place for socializing or to catch a game. Bobby G’s Chicago Eatery

We have another new restaurant coming to Buckhead. Bobby G’s Chicago Eatery is opening at the Lindbergh City Center near the MARTA headquarters on Piedmont Road. Bobby G’s offers a casual, authentic Chicago dining experience. Go enjoy their crispy crust Chicago style pizza or choose from an assortment of fine meats ranging from Italian beef or sausage to pure beef Vienna hot dogs. It’s a kid friendly place and a haven for all things Chicago, so drop by for a great meal, a night of trivia or the next Bears game.

Even More Bad News

Sorry for the back to back postings of bad news but unfortunately the recession keeps rearing its ugly head by bringing down another Buckhead restaurant. A fixture in the heart of Buckhead near the intersection of Peachtree Road and Pharr Road directly adjacent to the Cheesecake Factory, the ESPN Zone was a great place for fun and to watch a game. It was one of the first sports themed restaurants to offer such unique items as individual sound for game at each table and an assortment of fine leather chairs for VIP viewing areas.

Unfortunately, the cost of operating the restaurant in this economic environment proved to be too much for the Disney owned and operated venture and they closed it down last week. Approximately, 140 people lost their jobs. On the bright side it opens up a prime piece of real estate for another restaurant for the area so stay tuned.
